MEXICO: WHERE WE STAYED

We were really happy with our hotel choice in Mexico. We paid very little for a suite at the Galeria Plaza Reforma, which was an advantage of booking early-ish via Expedia. Though it isn't your usual American brand-name hotel, it had everything we needed and more. I wouldn't expect to find free Wi-Fi, a coffee machine, iPod docks or complimentary drinks each evening in hotels around Australia but we got it in Mexico! Recently updated, the rooms were really lovely, clean and spacious; the rooftop pool was a very welcome treat on hot afternoons and the gym up there was impressively well-equipped, if you can be bothered lifting a finger on your holidays. The staff were most accommodating and forgave us our poor Spanish skills, which was really good when it came time to ask for directions anywhere! Well situated close to the great boulevard Paseo de la Reforma, the hotel is within walking distance to plenty of shops, parks, tourist attractions, transport, restaurants and caf├ęs.
