GREETINGS FROM AUCKLAND

We're currently having a little stopover in Auckland. Our flight to LA is not for another three hours so I figured I had time to come on here and say hello. I didn't panic quite as much as I usually do on the flight here. I took a tablet the doctor had prescribed me but I still felt incredibly nervous in the beginning. James and I had been writing notes to each other before the plane took off and every time I looked at him in sheer terror, he motioned for me to keep writing. It was a good distraction. Then I had two glasses of champagne, which probably gave the tablet a bit of extra kick. Don't worry, I didn't end up like this:

I look and feel utterly disheveled, having had about three hours sleep last night. We are deliberately not getting any shut eye until the LA flight so we can get a better chance of sleeping for most of the trip. A couple of observations from NZ: I have been here once before so this time only reinforced that Kiwis are so unbelievably kind and friendly. First of all, the airline staff were just so sweet and funny. Then a Kiwi gent across the aisle from me offered to swap meals with me because the air hostess had come to tell me that they had ran out of the chicken dish on the menu! This sounds like I am totally generalising, doesn't it?  But seriously, since we stepped off the plane every single person, from the folk at the security scanners to the barista at the coffee shop, has been so friendly!
I'm going to apologise if this post is just one long ramble, I'm so tired and a tad dopey at the minute. If our next flight lands safely, the next time you'll hear from me I'll be in California! xoxo
