The brushes, in particular, look messy to me, like not having enough flowers to fill a vase and they're fanning out all over the place. Sure, I could just buy different containers but for the moment I am proud to have found a use for recycled ones - the smaller ones came from scented candles, the larger one was a vase for flowers. Because my makeup takes pride of place in my bathroom, regardless of how clean the actual room is, it always looks somewhat cluttered.
Using gravel from the pet supplies store, I turned my messy-looking brush and lippie jars into more of a "feature". The gravel serves more of a practical purpose, holding the brushes upright. In terms of the lipgloss and lipsticks, I filled the jars only to keep things uniform.
You don't have to use gravel like I did - you could use beads, coffee beans, rice, marbles, beans... whatever you think will do the trick.
So, what do you think? My bathroom is really messy at the moment but once I've cleaned it, I'll take a picture of the makeup once it's on my bathroom shelves and upload it to instagram.
